About Chameleon School

Welcome to Chameleon School, your top resource for pet chameleon care, information and advice. My name is Dave Pyke, expert chameleon keeper and founder of this website

My fascination with chameleons began over 10 years ago when I got my first Veiled chameleon. That’s him above, his name was Isambard and I had him for 11 years, a long time for a chameleon to live. After he passed away, I wanted to make a website as a tribute to him and to help people care for their chameleons as I long as I did for him.

After gaining extensive first-hand experience caring for Isambard, I realized there was a need to help beginners in the hobby and to demystify the complexities of chameleon care in an easy to digest format. Thus, Chameleon School was born.

My mission is to provide the most reliable and up-to-date information to chameleon enthusiasts to help their pets thrive. Content on the site covers topics like:

  • Chameleon species care guides
  • Enclosure set-up and maintenance
  • Lighting, heating, and humidity needs
  • Watering equipment advice
  • Proper diet and supplements
  • Common health issues
  • Signs of stress and disease
  • And much more!

I pride myself on constantly expanding my chameleon care knowledge by studying the latest academic research. You can rest assured the advice given on this site reflects the most current scientific findings and best practices.

I want to see these remarkable reptiles live long, healthy, and enriching lives in captivity. Please explore the site, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
